In this tutorial, we are going to create this image:
|
To make the image
on the left you will need:
Paint Shop Pro 6 or 7 (or another graphics program that uses psd images, such as Adobe PhotoShop) Flaming Pear's Flood Plug-in. You can get it by going here and downloading the evaluation version. It will work for about 2 weeks, then you will have to buy it to keep using it. The contents of this ZIP folder Download the ZIP folder above and UNzip the contents someplace in your PC where you will remember where you put it. |
| If you are using
Paint Shop Pro, place the file called "aysunset.jgd
" into the folder called "Gradients" in your PSP program.
If you are using Adobe Photoshop, place the file called "aysunset.grd" into the folder called "Gradients" in your Photoshop Program. You will need to do whatever your program requires to make the gradient recognized by the program. |
Place the file called
"ayflsunset.q8r" into the folder called "Flood Presets" within
your Flood Plug-in Program.
As for the file called "ayfl4sunset.psd", just know where it is when you need to open it. |
| Now we are ready
to begin in earnest.
Open your graphics program of choice. Create a new transparent image that is 200 pixels wide and 300 pixels in height. If you are not using Paint Shop Pro, you will have to play with your program to create the desired gradient effect. If you are using Paint Shop Pro, set your choices as follows: Radial Gradient: aysunset Your image will look like the one on the right. |
|
| Now, in your PSP
program, choose:
"Image", "Flip" Your new image will look like the one on the right. If you use another graphics program, you will have to use the tools it supplies to get the same, or similar, effect. |
|
|
|
Next, open the psd
file called "ayfl4sunset.psd". It looks like the image on
the left, but has a transparent background.
Now, copy and paste it into the image so it looks like it is just above the dark blue part of the gradient. You want to make it look like the image below: |
| Now you want to go into your
Flood plug-in program.
Choose the Flood preset called "ayflsunset.q8r" and run the image you made that looks like the one on the right through it. Your final image will look like the one below. |
|
|
|
If you like, you can add a frame from PSP. Choose whichever one you like and your image will look similar to the one below: |
